Hey Folks

Just a quick update.

I have just taken delivery of the brand new DJ Tech DIF-1S mixer. For those of you who are wondering what this is, it is a brand new entry level scratch mixer with a mini innofader inside. The reason it’s so interesting is that it costs just £99 / $199. Crazy!

The most important part of any scratch mixer is the fader and the innofader is renowned for its quality performance.

DJ Tech DIF-1S

I hooked it up alongside my Rane TTM57 and have given it a 15 minute side by side comparison.

I will be doing a video to show this but so far I can tell you that I am blown away. The fader feels really very nice, maybe even smoother than the Rane. I can do all the scratches I normally do on the Rane and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. The cut in point of the fader is slightly longer on the DJ Tech DIF-1S, but nothing major.

People always ask me which scratch mixer to buy when they are on a budget and up till now the choices haven’t been vast. Now I can safely say that this is the way to go.

Stay tuned for further updates and videos. Make sure you sign up below to get on the mailing list and be notified of new articles.

Please note that I do not do paid reviews, I bought this mixer with my own money and am giving you an honest insight.

Happy Scratching! :D

    Hi!
Can you explane me what you means “maybe even smoother than the Rane”?
Is it “lighter” or is it just feeling cool?
Is the same feel like Z2? and is that the same croosfader like Z2?
    Thanx!

    • studioscratches

Slightly lighter with a bit less resistance. The Z2 has an innofader, this is a mini innofader but feels similar.

wrong. the z2 haves three mini innofaders, not the Big Innofader.

Thanks Felix, I was just told this from DJ Tech too, so I have updated the comment. Sorry folks but we get it right in the end!

    Hi,

What is innofader and what are the differences between innofader and mini innofader?

  • Mujaga Wudakhi

hope i can buy it croatia in the near future!

  • DJ Jeff

99 GBP equals $150, not sure why its more expensive in the US as i saw Thudrumble selling them for $199. Anyway this looks like a nice mixer for the price, i wonder how the mini innofader feels like compared to the original.

    • studioscratches

I am not sure of the price difference. The mini feels pretty much exactly the same, with a bit more of a longer cut in but nothing serious! its great!

I’ve got one pre ordered but got my eyes on a TTM 57 (always wanted one) for around £500-600ish. Is the TTM57 worth buying any more, or should I just stick with DIF 1S and a SL2 box? At the moment, I’m torn with what to get.

    • studioscratches

I guess it comes down to budget. As you know I rock the 57 and can recommend it. THe nice thing about it is that serato is built in and so there is no need for the extra SL2 box. Also it has nice effects like delay etc. I imagine the SL2 and DIF 1S are almost the same price though. Very personal choice.

just got mine today! can’t wait to play with it.

  • FrozenButter

..patiently waiting for your videos using the DIF-1s please share the EQ settings big THANKS!

How much are Innofaders these days? I thought it would cost more than £99 to put one in my 05-Pro
