I have been producing beats for around 7 or 8 years now in various ways. It complements scratching perfectly for me so when I get tired of one I flip to the other to keep things fresh and they both help each other.
I thought I would start sharing my beats with you as visual beat tapes. Here is the first with 3 beats on.

Yo Short-e! These beats are incredible! Your style seems to be evolving in a new direction. I like it. What did you use to produce beats before you had an MPC?

These kinda beats are more for the pure enjoyment of listening or for MCs rather than to scratch over (as they don’t have much space for cuts) but I haven’t as yet really shared them. I know most scratch DJs love hip hop after all scratching is one of the 4 elements of hip hop so thought I would start getting them out.
These 3 were actually made in logic. Before that I used cubase and also acid. Got to master the MPC next as I pretty much work in that way in logic anyway and think it is the next logical step. When I have something decent I will post it up.

I also work with XL nice machine but it needed a couple of upgrades when i bought it,latest OS 1.20 (CF cardreader compatible),8 outs,fx,32mb…now i want compressor to experiment a bit with the drums.

Yes i asked them about 1 month ago about the CF drive,couldn’t wait so i ordered 1 in my region…mpcstuff also sells them but the price is pretty high.
