My very very good friend and longtime musical collaborator The Keyboard Master recently sent me the following from his blog:
“Keyboard Mastery begins with an understanding that self mastery will be the foundation upon which you build your success.
It all begins with the way you see yourself in relation to your goal.
Think, ‘this is unattainable’ and it will be.
Think ‘scales are a chore’ and they will be.
Think ‘I will never get there’ and you will not be disappointed.
The truth is that if you believe you can, you are right and if you believe you can’t, you are right as well.”
The same is true for scratching mastery:

Success is psychological, you walk into a battle with a negative mind set you’ll leave the battlefeild with negative results. but see i never stress about success i just practice patterns and new scratches while having fun and if i get to frustrated i put on some DJ krush and just RELAX and then get back to it when i’m in the moment.
